Milton (estimated population 1,100).The town of Milton was established in 1860 under the name of 'The Settlement'. Almost immediately it was renamed Milton after a local farm. Cedar getters were the first Europeans in the area, and Rev. Thomas Kendall settled north of the present town in 1828. Today Milton has been classified by the National Trust as an historical village and many historic buildings can still be seen.
