Early Stage One provides educational experiences for students in their first year of school. In Kindergarten the emphasis is on the provision of a safe and supportive learning environment that helps ensure a smooth transition to school. The orientation to school routines, the development of positive skills and the provision of successful learning experiences in all Key Learning Areas is of great importance.
Early Stage One
teachers provide excellent literacy and numeracy programs
supported by professional development through courses such
as Good First Teaching and Count Me In Too.
A School Support Officer works closely with the class
teacher to help meet the individual needs of the students.
The school buddy system ensures that each Kindergarten
student has a Year Six ‘buddy’ to help them
both in the classroom and playground.
